On December 3, Gabby and Candace were in DC for a special afternoon with the amazing young people in the Operation Understanding DC (OUDC) program. The OUDC promotes building bridges between communities and brings together young leaders from diverse backgrounds.
In our event this afternoon, we shared our children’s book, Shabbat and Sunday Dinner. We also had a conversation with students and shared our traditions with a cooking activity. We made Challah and Deep Fried Cornbread and devoured both along with the special dishes the students brought to our shared potluck. It was an inspiring afternoon with these bright young leaders.
Our stomachs were full, and our minds and hearts were open!
